Court 6's Cottage Event (July 21st)

Hi All,

Court6’s Cottage Event (Saturday July 21st) is just around the corner.  We are excited to get the day kick started and share everything with you. There has been a lot of work done behind the scenes, so please read carefully so that everyone is prepared and ready to have a lot of fun:

Location:

  • Address is 195 Douglas Road, Stanley Bridge

  • If you’re going towards Kensington take the first left after Stanley Bridge Resort on Douglas Road.

  • The driveway is .9kms down the road on the left, just before a white farm house.

  • There will be balloons at the end of the driveway.  Drive down to the end and there will be signs for parking.

  • This location is easily found via google maps

Competition:

  • Registration will begin at 9am – you will arrive and sign-in and receive a BBQ voucher

  • Coffee will be provided, free of charge – from the folks at Receiver Coffee - they will be on site nice and early to give everyone a caffeine kick before the event!

  • The first event will start at 10am sharp – if you are competing, please do not arrive late. We have worked very hard to organize heat times, judges, etc. and we need your co-operation for it to run smooth!

  • Teams will be announced – soon!!

  • We have 3 “official” workouts, and we will be wrapping up around 4pm.

Athletes:

  • Even though this is a “fun” competition this event is going to be run like a real competition throughout the day so we expect everyone to be cautious of their event times to ensure everything goes smooth.

  • THERE WILL BE RUNNING – BRING APPROPRIATE SHOES (don’t panic, it’s not far and you all can do it 😊)

  • It is summer and we are hoping for a nice day.  Please dress accordingly and bring sunscreen and bug spray.

  • As like other competitions, each athlete is expected to bring their own water and snacks for throughout the day.

  • There will be a hose/tap with fresh well water – let’s do our part for the environment and bring reusable water bottles/protein shakers. There will be no water bottles provided during the day, so please plan accordingly!

Post Competition Social:

  • The competition is schedule to be completed by 4:00pm. At this time, the BBQ will commence with an oyster bar and cold alcoholic beverage provided by Court 6 and our Labatt rep. David Mitchell.

  •

  • Chef Robert Pendergast has designed an incredible spread of local ingredients in a serve-yourself-style (paper plate and all) outdoor BBQ. Please don’t be shy to show your appreciation (tips are accepted by the Chef and his team, but not mandatory!)

  • For those that wish to stay after the social, there will be some alcoholic beverages provided by our Labatt rep, but it is BYOB if you plan on having more and sticking around! Which we are hoping most will as there will be a camp fire and other games for everyone to enjoy.

  • If you are wanting to stay – you are welcome to leave your car overnight at the cottage, anyone who would like to camp is also welcome to do that (absolutely no driving if alcohol is consumed….duh!) – There will be a crew of people taking cabs back in to Charlottetown later that evening, so that is an option too.

  • If you are planning on staying for the social: pack a change of clothes and some additional food/beverages. Other than the BBQ, there will be no food supplied. So please be prepared and ensure you have enough to last you through the night! If anyone would like to bring campfire snacks, chips, popcorn, any other unhealthy/healthy party food to share – please feel free to do so! It will not go to waste.

Other:

  • There will be games to play (spike ball, washer toss, Bochy ball etc.).  If anyone has any other outdoor games they would like to bring please do so.

  • There will be a couple of fun competitions to do with prizes.  These will be announced the day of the competition.

  • There is access to water onsite so if anyone would like to bring water sports equipment such as a kayak or paddle board – feel free to do so.  Or if you’re just cooling down after a tough workout you can go for a swim off the dock or tie tube off and just float around.

  • If you have a folding chair – bring it!

Also - this is a family friendly event! So feel free to bring spouses, children, friends, etc if anybody would like to bring some spectators along!

Disclaimer: it is still a CrossFit competition, so while we will do our best to have a ‘clean’ playlist, it won’t be perfect!
